Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has reiterated his administration’s commitment to continuously attract more foreign direct investments to the State towards his agenda on good governance, while taking full advantage of the United States’ Embassy Commercial Services.
Governor Abiodun who made this known in his office at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, said his administration was making frantic efforts to improving the ease of doing business in the State, adding that government was ready to partner with the Embassy to facilitate prospective Public Private Sector Partnership in the State.
"We welcome an open channel of opportunity that will allow us take full advantage of your department, we also look forward to your help in facilitating prospective Public Private Sector Partnerships," he said.
He noted that his administration was bringing more creativity to revenue generation without bringing hardship on the people, saying the state would welcome ideas and opportunities in its bid to raise the bar of the state's income generation.
“We appreciate the fact that we have so much in terms of resources, as well as advantage of industries. We have people who want to live here, thereby placing so much premium on our lands. Our administration has been able to raise a bit of revenue, so we are trying to drive that, but also trying to be very creative about funding opportunities. We need as much money as we can get; we are looking for partners", Abiodun said.
In her remarks, the team lead and Commercial Attache, United States Embassy Commercial Service, Christine Kelly disclosed that the department was conducting a business outreach in the South Western part of the country and decided to pay a visit to the state and avail government with opportunities available to its partners, saying the department would cherish the opportunity to work with the state.
Kelly expressed optimism that the partnership when activated, would allow for quick business connection between Ogun State Government and the United States Embassy Commercial Services, adding that the department had a lot to offer through its vast allies of companies and economic growth.
