Encomium: Governor Sanwo-Olu endorses Awori Cultural Festival 2022
The Executive Governor of Lagos State, H.E Babajide Sanwo-Olu has endorsed the forthcoming historical event tagged "Awori Cultural Festival" at a meeting held on Sunday 14th August 2022 at the State House, Marina, Lagos.Speaking on behalf of Awori Obas in Ogun State, our most Revered Royal Father, the Olofin Apesin Olode, Olota of Otta, Awori Kingdom, His Majesty, Professor Adeyemi Obalanlege Ph.D thanked Governor Sanwo-Olu for the warm reception. Kabiyesi Olota made it known that the festival will greatly contribute to the social and economic viability of the state. Kabiesi noted that the festival will further showcase the rich cultural values of the Aworis and would be attended by large numbers of indigenous people of the state, friends of Awori both locally and internationally in a way of sustaining the tourism attraction of the centre of excellence.The Osolo of Isolo, His Royal Majesty, Oba Kabiru Adelaja Agbabiaka on behalf of Awori Obas in Lagos reiterated the support of the entire members of Council of Awori Obas in Lagos to his led administration, and are equally mobilising towards the success of the Cultural Festival. Kabiesi further added that Awori race with over 200 Monarchs in the southwestern region will be showcasing their cultural inheritances and human resources enshrined in the mind-blowing display of Awori culture and traditions.
The President of Lagos Chambers of Commerce and Industry who doubles as the Chairman of the Awori Day Advisory Committee, Asiwaju Michael Olawale -Colecommended Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his cabinet members for the warm reception. He further highlighted all the activities set aside for the historic event in a bid of promoting the rich cultural values of the Aworis both in Lagos state and Ogun state.
In his address, the Executive Governor of Lagos state, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu declared the total support of the state government in respect of the forthcoming cultural festival. His Excellency thanked all the stakeholders in attendance for the briefing while he equally assured the delegation of the full participation in tandem to the Greater Lagos Agenda.
