Political Debate: Ex-Ogun Gov. Gbenga Daniel Discloses Why Contesting For Ogun East Senatorial Seat

A two-term Governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel has disclosed that he was contesting for the Ogun East Senatorial seat in other agitate for activating Local Government autonomy and lobbies for the more developmental project.
Daniel made this known during a political debate held in the Ijebu Local Government secretariat, Itoro Ijebu on Thursday, organised by the Nigerian Union of Journalists Ogun State chapter.
When asked why contesting for the senatorial seat? Daniel explained that Ijebu is a major location in Ogun state, which have sophisticated people and people who deserve more.
The founder of Gateway front foundation disclosed that he has 16 points agenda which would enable more development for the constituency, adding that he had proved projects delivered by him while serving as the governor.
He stated that one major thing he wants to do is to activate the Local Government’s autonomy, adding that he wants to ensure that his constituents feel the impact of government from the grassroots.
Daniel argued that the collapse of government today was because the Local Government administration had collapsed, promising that when elected he would activate the law to ensure that Local Government administration would become independent and actively involved in the government. He emphasised
He also disclosed that he had an agenda called secure the future, stressing that it would put the State in a strategic position economically in Nigeria and the West African sub-region.
