Zone-2 Police Command: SP Mariam Arrests Robbers Terrorising Somolu-Bariga, Recover Stolen vehicle
Zone-2 Police operatives, Onikan Lagos has set another record through the ANTI-PIRACY unit led by an Incontrovertible SP Mariam Ogunmolasuyi which again has restored the image of the Nigeria Police to the world.This stride made was contained in a statement today by the Zone-2, Police Public Relations officer, SP Hauwa Idris, while addressing a press conference where 4 suspects: A Naval officer, Oyewole Femi (m 50) (attached to the Headquarters Western Naval Command, Naval Base, Harbour Road, Apapa, Lagos), Joshua Adeleke (m 41), Kabiru Ismail (m 39) and Ukpabi Bright Ikechukwu (m 39), who were paraded in connection with cases of conspiracy, robbery and receiving of stolen Vehicle.Statement, "on 20th day of December, 2022, intelligence has it that some gang of car snatchers operating within Lagos and Ogun recently robbed a victim of a Gold colour Toyota Siena vehicle and sold same to one of their numerous receivers within the states""Subsequently upon the intelligence report, operatives of the Anti-Piracy team led by the O/O, SP Mariam Ogunmolasuyi swung into action and Arrested four suspects in connection with the crime while two Gold Toyota Siena (1999 model) and one white Toyota Camry (2003 model) were recovered."Hauwa further narrated their mode of operandi which is snatching of vehicles that are parcked by the road sides: gain access into the vehicle with similar keys: operated mostly around Somolu-Bariga axis "Oyewole Femi who served in the Nigerian Navy for 22 years and has been arrested for similar offences by the Police, also confessed to have received more than fifteen (15) units of vehicle from his accomplice""In the year 2016, upon investigation which proved he is a Naval officer, was handed over to the Command where he was serving for necessary disciplinary actions However, he further confessed that he was subsequently arrested alongside Joshua Adeleke and Kabiru Ismail for similar offence by Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) where 7 vehicles were recovered from him and he was handed over to the Naval authority for disciplinary actions while his accomplice, Joshua Adeleke and Kabiru Ismail were prosecuted and convicted" she added.
After securing release from the prison, they confessed they told their family and friends they were arrested and jailed ainconnection to EndSars Protest saga.
Confession also has it that Oyewole Femi (Naval Officer) has bought morethan 25 vehicles at a ridiculous prices.
Recently, Joshua Adeleke and Kabiru Ismail stole Toyota Siena (1999 model) with Reg. No. MUS 499 AM and sold to Oyewole Femi again for One Hundred Thousand Naira (N100,000.00k) but thus recovered from Ukpabi Bright Ikechukwu possession who claimed he bought from Oyewole Femi but unable to substantiate his claim.
Recall the commitment and zeal of this patriotic officer, SP Mariam Ogunmolasuyi who also stuck out her neck to unravel the mystery behind the murder of general's daughter, Cynthia Osokogwu whithin the shortest possible time when this ugly and unfortunate incident occurred have restored some sort of succour to the family by arresting those that committed the dastardly act.Meanwhile, the arrest of Two former gang-members of the notorious kidnap Kingpin, Chukwudimeme Onwuamadike aka Evans who was sentenced to 41 years in prison for kidnapping and armed robbery at the period the whole nation was gripped with anger, fear and rage is another stride of SP Mariam Ogunmolasuyi.
However, Zone-2 Command has issued a strong warning to criminals hibernating within Lagos and Ogun to quickly relocate or be ready to face full wrath of the law while the AIG Bode has assured the public that suspects will be charged to court for prosecution.
