 5 Deadly Cultists Smoked Out of Hiding in Agbado



Five suspected members of a dreaded cult group, Aiye Confraternity, allegedly terrorizing Aboro axis of Agbodo in the Ifo Local Government Area of Ogun State, have been smashed.
Their arrests on Monday, August 9, followed a distress call received from a concerned citizen by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Agbodo, CSP Awoniyi Adekunle Issac, who swung into action in collaboration with other security agencies.

In the complaint, the caller narrated how residents of Matogun, always in perpetual fear of attacks, had lived at the mercy of the cultists, resulting in an aggressive patrolling of the area by the security team, and successful location of their hideout.

Police spokesperson for Ogun State Command, (PPRO), SP Omolola Odutola, who confirmed the arrest in a press statement said, "These set of cultist attacked the Divisional Police Officer and his team, who went to rescue one Ogwu Uzoma (m), currently under medical attention at Ayodele Hospital Matogun.

"The victim was brutally injured by the suspected cultist, who had earlier threatened to kill him for failing to part with the money in his account", the PPRO disclosed.

She, however, gave the identities of the suspects as Adetayo Ismaila, 42; Kunle Oluwole, 37; Ibrahim Ademosun, 31; Meshach Olaide, 31; and Dare Kehinde, 35, all makes, adding that they have all owned up to the crime.

Recovered from them, according to the command's spokesperson, were broken bottles, cutlasses, knife and significant amount of cannabis, "pointing to the fact that they are under the influence of hard drugs".

Police preliminary investigation has, however, revealed that they were instrumental to the incessant early morning attacks, and late night ambush of workers on their way back home.

The state Commissioner of Police, CP Abiodun Alamutu has ordered their immediate arraignment in court, to face the criminal justice system.
