Ogun 2027: Sen. Yayi, Best Foot To Put Forward As APC Governorship Candidate- Isaiah Dansiode Ode from Idiroko
2027 is a little bit short of 3 years away. But trust political jobbers, they have developed chronic migraines and the source of their migraine is none other than Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, FCA,. (Yayi). When someone’s success becomes source of worry for you, the tendency is that you will continue on the downward trajectory of life while also developing headache that could become incurable. Hence chronic migraine beckons.

Yesterday, an epistle surfaced online credited to a faceless writer called Hakeem Adisa from Idiroko. While I will not help in lifting the veil off the known writer just yet, at least to help him continue living his miserable life. I'm however duty bound to put issues in proper perspective in other not to confuse unsuspecting members of the public. The ulterior motive and the intention of the writer is to assassinate the character and distract Sen Yayi from the task of giving Ogun West a facelift that is currently the hallmark of Sen Yayi's representation thus far. But the writer failed and failed woefully. Yayi is too focused to be distracted. Yayi is already a man whom God has blessed; that no man can curse. As such, every arrow thrown at him will always come to naught. And the reasons are not farfetched. In Ogun West today, Yayi is the real deal. His exploits are the catchphrase. Yayi is touching and changing life. While the political scavengers are busy plotting against Yayi, he is busy impacting the lives of the people positively.

One basic fact scaring every would-be Governorship Candidate of 2027 in Ogun State today is Yayi's deeds cum his popularity and acceptability across the state. The issue of where Yayi is from that the writer raised has been laid to rest a long time ago with both proofs of ancestry and his election as the senator representing the good and united people of Ogun West in the Senate. Historically, the result of that election was unprecedented as far as senatorial election is concerned in Ogun West. Raising such this time only amounts to beating a dead horse and trying to stop a flight that has already taken off. That Yayi started his political exploits from Lagos as a trainee is not in doubt but the experience acquired from Lagos is now of benefit for the generality of Ogun State people. As such, referring to Sen Yayi as Lagos base in the disjointed epistle is been clever by half and an attempt to throw mud that cannot stick.

Yayi's various attempts and efforts at returning home politically to add value to his homestead is also well documented. The man that turned himself to a tin god and succeeded albeit temporarily in blocking Yayi's homecoming is currently a political orphan. While Yayi is doing the job of representing his people in Ogun West, the man is licking his wounds privately. The man eventually came out of the whole show of shame battered and politically naked. Yayi has been vindicated and needs not rejoice over that. God has been fighting his battle and will continue to do so because he always aligns himself and ways to that of his Creator.

On the issue of Yayi's "War chest", the truth is no governorship project is run on paper and no pauper should ordinarily go near it unless those with mercantilistic intention who are always in the governorship race for trading. Those ones might care not to have some level of financial security before embarking on such huge undertaking. Yayi will always be secured financially for any venture because the uppermost consideration for him is the cause of the downtrodden and how to make life better for the people. But the selfish ones don’t understand such knowledge. It is divine, and it comes with its inherent concepts and blessings. An individual who has been truthfully just and fair in his dealing with the common man is bound to be blessed exponentially. It's the natural law of nature and fully backed spiritually. Those who want such God's blessings and mercy should replicate same level of sincerity rather than continue wallowing in self-pity and unnecessary envy. Many political leaders are in the terrible habit of exploiting the people and enslaving their domestic staff. Or how can a supposed leader be denying his staff (i.e., drivers and cleaners) their hard-earned salaries for several months? rather than do exploits in their lives and make the people around them happy. Putting smiles on people’s faces has been Yayi's creed, and he is a living testimony to the attendant blessings. But if any would-be governorship candidate is offended in Yayi's declaration of his readiness financially, let that person declare the opposite, and let's see how many of his followers will still be standing with him on that journey to shame.

When the 2027 race eventually sets sail, the people of Ogun West and by extension Ogun State knows what to do and where to put their collective lots. While the writer failed to mention who is the best foot to be put forward by Ogun West, it needs reminding that before Yayi's ascendancy, Ogun West was totally in political dungeon and in economic golgotha. That is now changing courtesy of a God sent individual called Yayi. A quick tour round the closest local government to the faceless writer, Ipokia, or even within the idiroko ward where numerous in-street roads are currently being constructed by Yayi. He will be better educated  on the good works of Senator Olamilekan Yayi which must continue in an executive capacity beyond 2027. Our people in Ogun West are now conscious enough to know that without political power, economic power will be seemingly unattainable. Invariably, our people are now weary of charlatans like this faceless writer and his co-travellers and sponsors who are wolves in sheep clothing in our midst. Their mission which is to turn our collective hope into a mere mirage through their blind and unrealistic ambition has no base to stand on.

If our recent past and history has thought us anything, it must be our collective failure as a people to put our best foot forward especially at the governorship race. Those who have been our eyes and ears has not been able to adequately respond and carry the weight of expectations at our hours of need and this has continued to rob off negatively on our socio-economic development. But currently, Sen Yayi is exceeding all our expectations in Ogun West. Fair enough, Sen Olamilekan Adeola understand that life can only be understood backwards, but it must be lived forward. Hence, he has never for once cast aspersions on the governorship forerunners or any of our genuine leaders in Ogun West rather, he has always honored their sacrifices and commitment and taken the gauntlet where they left it all in a bid to provide happiness and good life for the greatest numbers.

Therefore, the likes of jittery and faceless Hakeem Adisa should not get ahead of themselves. At the appropriate time, Ogun West will set forth by pitching our collective tent with a virile, capable and dynamic individual that has been doing great exploits on behalf of the people. That individual will forge unity among us across the state and not just Ogun West. Such individual will lift the people to greater heights they can’t even imagine. Such individual will engage in the work of intelligence and diplomacy across the length and breadth of the state. We're talking about an individual that is well equipped enough to engage in idealistic work of helping to raise a free, fair and just Ogun State where talents and human enterprise will flourish unhindered. We need performance-oriented individual for the task ahead and not some chief launchers, non-governorship materials, or a wannabe. Ogun State needs a highly focused personality to mount the saddle whose intention is not to go and enrich his or herself but with the sole aim of developing the state and the people therein. Who else is best suited then than Yayi, just who?
