30 Days In Office: AIG Adegoke Parades Suspected Criminals Over SUV Theft, N39m Items, Ammunition Possession
The Assistant Inspector General of Police incharge of Zone-2 command, AIG Adegoke Fayoade in his thirty days in office has made a successful arrest of two suspected criminals for various offences bordering on criminal conspiracy, House breaking and entry, stealing, impersonation, forgery and conduct likely to cause breach of peace, this in his bid to eradicate criminals hibernating in Ogun and Lagos state.

The press statement released after their parade states "On the 11th of july 2024, Chief Olasode O.Martins brought a petition against some criminal syndicates who broke into his premises and carted away his white Range Rover SUV and was referred to the Anti-Piracy Unit for discreet investigation and report.

The Anti-Piracy Unit headed by SP Mariam Ogunmolasuyi who is highly trained and committed police officer, work diligently to the instruction of her seasons professional police boss and led the unit to combat burgeoning new crime trends, carry out this tactical assignment with intelligent reports, ensuring the safety of lives and properties of residents. Swung into action and the call log of the number that called the security Unit on the day of the incident was worked upon as well as the  numbers of the complainant's employee and these revealed that his personal assistant, one Salaudeen Abdulbaki "m' who resigned earlier that came back to the house, since he knew his boss' daily itinerary and constructively opened the gate with a duplicated key, carting away the complainant's vehicle.

"Subsequently, the personal assistant, Salaudeen Abdulbaki 'm' was arrested in connection to the crime at his hideout along Nasarrawa road, Abuja and the exhibit, a Range Rover SUV was recovered and he confessed  to have  masterminded the whole act with his syndicate, admitting also to be the person pretending to be his boss that called the estate security guards on the day of the incident with a new sim card he had specifically gotten for the operation for easy passage of the vehicle  after which the sim card was destroyed before moving the suv to Nasarrawa and Abuja respectively.

Francis Istifanus 'M', 33 years, the second suspect, is suspected to be involved with stealing and receiving stolen properties while working as a security guard at a warehouse in Ajah Lagos.

The suspect confessed to have stolen one industrial oven, one Mitsubishi air condition, wood carving cutter, 4 bank glass doors, gas cooker, 4 heavy duty jacks, 25KVA generator set and other industrial equipment worth over Thirty-Nine Million Naira which was loaded and taken to various receivers across the country before he was finally apprehended at his hideout in Abuja FCT.

"Efforts are intensified to apprehend other fleeing suspects." The release reads.

SP Mariam Ogunmolasuyi for her dedication, unwavering gallantry, crime bursting and investigation prowess earned her IGP commendation  at the just concluded Police award and commendation ceremony signed by IGP Kayode Egbetokun PhD, npm in Abuja on Monday 15th April 2024 and recently  won an award of excellence as the investigative officer of the year 2024 by National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP) National Conference held at the Lagos Oriental Hotel.

Secondly, a suspect, Ibrahim Babatunde ‘m’ 36yrs was arrested for cultism, unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition.

Based on intelligence gathered by the Assistant Inspector General of Police concerning a notorious suspected member of EIYE confraternity who has been terrorizing Ijoko-Ota and Sango axis of Ogun State.

The AIG assigned the Officer in-charge Dragon Squad 2, DSP Adeyemi Akeem and team to discretely carry out the operation.

On the 10th day of October, 2024 about 0439hrs, one suspect Ibrahim Babatunde ‘m’ (an ex-convict) was arrested during a raid on the hideout along Ijagba Area of Sango-Ota, Ogun State while Two (2) locally made Single Barrel Pistols and Two (2) live Cartridges were recovered from him which he claimed were bought for Eighty Thousand Naira (N80,000.00k) each from Benin Republic.

The suspect confessed to being a member of the EIYE confraternity while efforts are intensified to arrest the fleeing suspects.
