Senator Olamilekan Adeola Yayi 2024/25 Scholarship and Bursary Award Flag off
Ogun West Students in Tertiary Institutions have been advised to take advantage of 2024/25 Scholarship and Bursary Awards of the Senator representing Ogun West, Senator Olamilekan Adeola Yayi, now expanded to accommodate more Beneficiaries.The call was made by the Chairman, Senator Olamilekan Adeola Scholarship Board, Professor Tope Popoola in Ilaro during the official flag off of the Exercise for the current Academic Session. Prof Popoola disclosed that the Distinguished Senator, Olamilekan Adeola has increased the number of beneficiaries from 1000 for each group to 2,500 for Scholarship and 2,500 for the Bursary Award, he advised the potential beneficiaries to avoid double Registration as this will lead to disqualification. In his remarks, the Board Secretary, Chief Dapo Oke stated that no Student should pay money to anyone or Group to benefit from the scheme, as the program is completely free, advising them to visit Yayischolaship site and fill correctly the Information required. The Board, he said, will treat all entries on merit and in accordance with laid down rules of the Scheme.
In his Royal Remarks, the Olu of Ilaro and Paramount Ruler of YewaLand, Oba Dr Kehinde Olugbenle, represented by the Olu of Imasayi, Oba Dr Lukmon Kuoye, advised Students to be committed to their Studies and shun any act of hooliganism and Cultism at all times. Other Speakers include, the APC Senatorial Chairman, Alhaji Azeez Muhammed, Engr Yinka Akintomide from Yewa South, Chief Samuel Ayedogbon, Aare Engr Waliu Taiwo, from Ado-Odo/Ota LG, the APC Woman Leader, Olori Adebisi Olaotan, representatives of Iyaloja General, Chief Mrs Yemisi Abass. The Council of Baales from the five Local Governments were represented at the event. The Local Government Coordinators for Sen Yayi and their Deputies also added their official presence while The Students Bodies in attendance include President and Past Presidents of NANS in Ogun State, National Youth Council of Nigeria, NAOSS and several Students from various Tertiary Institutions. Members of the Scholarship Board in attendance lend their support to the Students with some Counselling and Advise on best practices.
