 Akpabio Promises Quick Transmission of 2025 Budget for Tinubu's Assent

Senate President Godswill Akpabio has assured Nigerians that the 2025 budget will be swiftly transmitted to President Bola Tinubu for approval once it is passed into law. Speaking during Tuesday's plenary, Akpabio highlighted the Senate's dedication to ensuring a smooth budgetary process.

He commended lawmakers for their thorough review of the budget, noting that their efforts would result in a practical financial plan for the country. "I congratulate all senators and the National Assembly for the way you have examined the 2025 budget. In the end, we will have a workable document for the benefit of all Nigerians," he said.

Akpabio also praised the lawmakers for extending the 2024 budget’s capital provisions until June 2025, ensuring government operations continue without interruption. He reassured that efforts were underway to transmit the 2025 budget to the president without delay, in line with constitutional provisions.
