Oyetola’s Team Arrives Bayelsa for $3bn Agge Deep Seaport Project

A high-level delegation from the Federal Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy has arrived in Bayelsa State to collaborate with the state government on finalizing plans for the $3 billion Agge Deep Seaport in Ekeremor Local Government Area.

The project, a public-private partnership (PPP) involving the Bayelsa State Government, the Federal Government, and private investors, aims to enhance maritime infrastructure, reduce congestion at ports, and boost economic activities in the region.

Minister Adegboyega Oyetola emphasized that the initiative aligns with efforts to develop critical maritime infrastructure, including ongoing projects in Badagry, Ondo, Ibom, and Bonny. The ministry is also focused on attracting private sector and foreign investments to strengthen Nigeria’s maritime sector.

The Agge Deep Seaport is expected to generate jobs, drive investment, and position Bayelsa as a key transport hub for both the northern and southeastern regions. It is also set to attract multi-billion naira investments, further solidifying Bayelsa’s role as a major player in Nigeria’s blue economy.
