Public Misconduct: Ogun Government Suspends Olorile of Orile-Ifo for Six Months

The Ogun State Government, under the leadership of Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun, has suspended Oba Abdulsemiu Adewale Ogunjobi, the Olorile of Orile-Ifo, for six months over conduct deemed inappropriate for a traditional ruler.

The decision followed an investigation by the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, where both the monarch and the victim were invited for questioning.

The suspension was prompted by the Oba’s public misconduct and inappropriate remarks, which circulated widely on social media and sparked public concern.

Following the inquiry, Oba Ogunjobi has been temporarily stripped of his title and traditional regalia pending further review of his actions.

The suspension was implemented in collaboration with the Egba Traditional Council, in line with Section 52(1) of the Ogun State Obas and Chiefs’ Law of 2021.
