Tinubu Approves N80 Billion for Alau Dam Reconstruction in Borno
Minister of Water Resources Joseph Utsev confirmed this after the year’s second FEC meeting, highlighting the dam’s critical role and recent flood-related challenges.
An inter-ministerial committee on dams, inaugurated in October 2024, has assessed 35 dams nationwide and submitted an interim report to the FEC. The Borno government is collaborating with the committee, with work set to begin in December and the first phase expected to be completed by July. The full project will take 24 months.
